Beeswax Candles

Benefits of Beeswax Candles
Beeswax candles purify the air
A beeswax candle emits a constant stream of negative ions whilst burning. These negative ions are attracted to suspended particles in the air (such as pollen, odours, dust, moulds and toxins) which are positively charged. The suspended particles thereby become heavier and gravity pulls them to the ground – instead of remaining in the air where they can be breathed in causing allergic reactions.

Beeswax candles are the only known fuel that emits these negative ions. Other sources of negative ions include rain forests and moving water such as rain storms, oceans, fast flowing rivers and waterfalls.

Burning a beeswax candle is the simplest and most cost effective way of purifying the air you breathe.

Beeswax candles burn up to 10 times longer than paraffin candles
Beeswax has a higher melting point than paraffin. Beeswax candles therefore burn slower and last longer, making them an economical alternative.

Beeswax candles do not emit smoke
Beeswax candles will only smoke if burnt in a draughty room (such as near an open window), or if the wick is too long. To prevent smoking trim the wick to between 5mm and 7mm prior to lighting the candle.

Beeswax candles do not contain artificial fragrances
To improve their appeal many paraffin candles contain artificial fragrances. When burnt these fragrances produce toxic black soot which settles on walls, window coverings, carpets and inside your lungs. Beeswax candles emit a pleasant light honey scent without the use of fragrances.

Beeswax candles emit a warm golden glow
The light emitted by a beeswax candle is in the same spectrum as the sun. It is a warm golden colour and a halo can often be seen around it. This is opposed to the disorganised light spectrum produced by paraffin candles (which is similar to old fashioned incandescent light bulbs), or the cool bluish flame emitted by soy candles.

Beeswax candles are great for the environment
Beeswax candles are recognised as carbon neutral by the WWF, as the CO2 emitted whilst burning has already been removed from the atmosphere by the bees in producing the wax. Beeswax is also a renewable resource.

Cotton wicks and 100% beeswax
Many paraffin candle manufacturers use metal-cored wicks. These can contribute to unhealthy indoor air quality. Our candles are made with Cotton wicks and 100% beeswax.

Coffs Coast visitors and residents will have the chance to see some of the world’s best rally drivers in action when the Australian leg of the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship, Rally Australia, is staged in and around Coffs Coast from 8 to 11 September 2011.

The big manufacturing teams will be out in force to enjoy the best Coffs Coast has to offer with a variety of special stages and some exciting spectator points currently being planned that will showcase the cars and Coffs Coast!

This action-packed international event will showcase Coffs Coast to the world.

Mudgee Small Farms Feild Days

AREC was originally known as the Mudgee Smll Farm Field Days Co-Operative and changed it’s name when the organisation moved from the Mudgee Showground to it’s own exhibition centre at the current site.

The Mudgee Small Farm Field Days have been staged for over 30 years and since the first edition in 1977 the event, initially staged at the local Mudgee Showgrounds, and the organisation have grown to the point now where AREC owns it’s own dedicated exhibition site, receives no outside funding and is a major contributor to the community.

What started out as the brainchild of the local NSW Department of Agriculture Agronomist (Gerry Hennessy) & Horticulturist (Clarrie Beckingham) along with local farmer Mike Cox is now one of the premier field day events in Australia drawing upwards of 25,000 people and 450 exhibitors over the 2 days of the event every July providing a significant boost to the local economy. Initially they anticipated 100 people turning up, 600 was closer the mark and the event just snowballed from there. They rightly figured it was better to answer a question once to a hundred people in person rather than trying to answer 100 times to voices on the other end of an overworked office telephone.

These 3 gentlemen recognised that the missing ingredient in the flow of people onto smaller acreages and “lifestyle” blocks was education on how to manage and prosper on your own piece of land and that central element, education & information, is still the driver behind the Mudgee Small Farms Field Days today. These new “small farmers” (“blockies” to the locals) were in one almighty hurry to know how to build a fence, milk a cow, rear a calf, sow pastures, build yards, mark calves, tan hides, make gates, ride horses, train working dogs, rear hens, cook meat, bake bread etc and do it all in 2 days! It didn’t matter that it took most career farmers a lifetime to acquire these skills, these guys were in one big hurry and still are.

The initial idea, education and information, is still the driver behind the event today and visitors to the filed days can still access many free demonstrations, lectures and seminars on subjects as diverse as farm management to rose pruning!

Today AREC plays host to a number of community events and provides excellent, flexible hire facilities from small conference and lecture rooms right up to our large exhibition building named the Founders Pavilion.

I have been using Body Bars for over 3 years now and personally rate it as the best soaps / shampoos I have ever used. My family and I are forever mindful about the contaminants in our everyday products – in particular the saturation of SLS and chemicals. It is a relief to discover Body Bar Australia’s natural products.

I suffer terribly from psoriasis that affects my body and scalp. I have tried almost all soaps and shampoo to no avail. I truly believe that since I started using Body Bars, I have seen a significant improvement. The shampoo bar is my favourite. I use it daily and it leaves my hair shiny without the need for conditioner. It also lathers up in any water conditions.

I travel extensively for work. Prior to using Body Bars, I had to either carry multiple bottles of hair products and soap or use what hotels had to offer. Now, I simply carry Body Bar’s travel size products.

There are hundreds of beautiful things up for auction. So far $15 000 has been raised what a fantastic effort!

I purchases some body bars at Primex in June 2010, and have very satisfied with the product. I brought a package each for my teenage daughters, however I have been using the product myself and have been most impressed as I have not had itchy or dry skin as I would normally have at this time of year, with requires loads of moisturiser. When using the body bar, I only require a very small amount of moisturiser.

I have been using your soap for the past four months.
Through this time I have had treatment for my immune system.
The treatment is a series of medication that makes your hair fall out and your skin itchy and dry and small painful sores develop.

Since using your product I have noticed a great difference in the tone and texture of my skin.
When showering and then leaving the soap on your skin for at least two minutes before washing
it off was a great suggestion from you, when I purchased the first bar.
I have established a good routine to assist with the soap being left on
my arms and legs (the most affected areas) until I have washed my hair
with your shampoo soap!!! another great product by the way.

undeniable difference to my skin and assisted me in preventing the
condition from making me feel itchy , and uncomfortable.

Heavenly! I have just used for the first time our Flower Power Scrub Bar! I had only used it for my hands and thought it was really moisturising and smelt great. BUT tonight I showered with Flower Power Scrub Bar and wow it is simply luxurious. Silky, creamy, velvety, it just melts into your skin and it’s so girly!!
